IMBOLD Team
We are a team paddling through this life for 37 years in a two seats kayak. And this became a five seater when our daughters joined. We are at two seats again, while the girls have their own kayaks now, although they are still in the team. We love nature, water adventures and good quality people. We respect nature, we love it, we protect it, we try to inspire those who choose to go on the water with us. We show to our clients and friends what is good to do and what not, we collect garbage from the places we visited. No one is allowed to tear plants or leave mess behind.

Nature is a gift
Located at the edge and part of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, the Somova – Parcheș lake complex is a gem not so well known. With a look of a small delta in itself, it has a biodiversity that match it’s bigger sister. The view is exhilarating and soothing in the same time – a series of lakes, canals lined with reed and water plants, where colonies of birds hide from onlookers. Danube Delta is the home – or temporary home – of more than 300 species of birds. In Parcheș lake complex cormorants, ducks, storks, ospreys, kingfishers and many other bird species lay their eggs in this area, where one can find a curious habit not so known in this world – eggs laying in common nests, due to the general lack of laying surfaces during flooding time of the year. Other species happen to be seen, White and Dalmatian Pelicans being welcomed guests in this area. The lake complex is also populated with wild animals like jackal, fox, and lately, beginning 2014 it was signaled the presence of beaver, a mammal considered extinct 15 years ago. Its waters are also the home of few tens of fish species, carps, pikes, zanders, makerels, grey mullets, breams included.
Slide on the water and relax
Sliding smoothly over the waters of the lake complex is a moment of serenity and merging with nature. Luckily, motor boats are impeded to navigate so no aggressive noises or waves interrupts daily animal life or paddling boats to navigate. Paddling serenely on a smooth water surface is a blissful experience. It’s therapeutic and full of beauty. You are either alone or with your friends and the world suddenly seems perfect. Some say that it’s one of the best ways to forget about all their problems for a few hours and recharge themselves. It really does work wonders for the soul. The birds are singing, the water is rippling by, and there is just nothing better than this moment, right here. Many people believe that when we are around water we get a sense of peace and tranquility. This is the same reason why many people enjoy going to a spa in order to relax amidst the comfort of nature. When you are out on the water, you will find yourself less stressed, more happy, and more at peace with yourself and your surroundings. And you may find yourself with less negative thoughts as well! Think about it!

Vali Rimbu
Vali is born on the banks of the Prut River, in Mitoc – Botosani County, in Romania. As a child he liked water, everything he did in life was done near a river, lake, even a canal.
He graduated from a naval high school, worked in the port, mainly on floating cranes, he even became chief mechanic on one of them, on the Danube River, from where he retired.
Since he left Mitoc he lived in Galati, and in his teens he chose to do a sport obviously related to water, kayaking, on Lake Catusa. While he served in the armed forces he started at Steaua Sports Club as a kayaker, but he was unlucky to break a leg and ended his sports career.
About 15 years ago, while driving the car along the Olt valley, an idea sprouted in his mind that changed his life. He wanted to take a kayak to paddle along Olt River. He buys one for him, but he still hasn’t reached Olt…yet. From one kayak he ended up having over 30, sharing his passion with others, teaching them, accompanying them, story telling them about the things he has done since he chose to change his life.
It is a long established fact that a team is complete with a Lady, and Adriana is The Lady of Imbold. Of course she shares Vali’s beliefs about life, she is romantic and … a writer. Her book for children “Rio and his magic story” was published not long ago and is the fruit of a dream.
Yes, a dream! It tells the story of a magic child, their grandson and a unicorn mother with his baby unicorns, and the rest is for you to read. She likes to say about her and Vali that “it’s his path, I only walk with him, and I like to believe that I am a spark in his heart”. She is that and more then that – she is The Manager! So, talk to her!
